Funeral services for Ruthe J. Elie, age 88 of Washington Street in Ogdensburg will be held on Wednesday April 1, 2015 at 2:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Jay Seymour officiating. Burial will be in the spring at Notre Dame Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held also on Wednesday from 12:00pm until the time of the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Elie passed away at her home on Thursday March 26, 2015.

Surviving are her children Ronald (Kristine) Elie of VA, Randy (Micha) Elie of Watertown, Roberta (Donald) Ayling of Clay, Renee (John) Seymour of Ogdensburg and Ruthann (Steve) Badlam of Ogdensburg; grandchildren Abbey, Lindsay, Ryan, Adam, Nathan, Justin, Aaron, Katie, Jessica, Emily, Aubrey, Adrian & Josie; five great-grandchildren and a niece Julie Kissinger. Her Husband Robert J. Elie predeceased her in 1976.

Ruthe was born on July 30, 1926 in Ogdensburg, a daughter of the late Floyd & Ada (Carmichael) Fox. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy and continued her education at the Effey Lou Wallace Business School. She later married Robert J. Elie on April 10, 1950 at Notre Dame Church with Msgr. Elie officiating their marriage.

She worked at Acco Brands for a short period, and after her marriage she stayed home to raise her family. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, traveling, spending time at her camp on the St. Lawrence, going to the casino, and bus trips with friends. She enjoyed her grandchildren and will be remembered for her seamstress, quilting and knitting talents that she shared with her family many times in special gifts.
